The Story Behind the Bottle
We’ve been working with Bob Berton at various cellars around New South Wales for decades now, and have always been impressed by the wines he produces, as well as by his infectious enthusiasm. When he decided to go solo in 2005 and invest in a winery all of his own, we offered to help out with funding – provided of course that we got first dibs on his exciting new ranges of wines. Here the citrusy flavours of Chardonnay are given a boost of tropical fruit and spice with the addition of a generous splash of Viognier. A lively ‘pick me up’ style of wine, it was an obvious candidate to join Bob’s aptly named ‘The Optimist’ range! A great wine to enjoy solo, it’s also an excellent match with creamy white fish, spicy noodles or a vegetable pilau.
