Ixsir Altitudes Blanc 2023
Lebanon has an exceptionally long history in making fine wine. This is one from high-altitude vineyards, 1,800m above sea level. Hence its name. Crisp, mineral-zipped, floral and elegant, from a top Bordeaux winemaker too, it's aromatic and bright.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Despite a long, troubled history, Lebanon is a source for excepionally fine wines. Both red and white. Named “the wine world’s best-kept secret” by Master of Wine Tim Atkin, this country has been making fine wines for thousands of years. Plus, Ixsir is one of Lebanon’s finest wineries. No surprise really, considering the legend who works as consultant there, Hubert de Boüard, also behind Saint-Émilion’s £250-a-bottle Château Angélus. Resident winemaker is Gabriel Rivero, who did a stint at Bordeaux's renowned Sociando Mallet. Using a unique blend of Obeidy, Muscat and Viognier, this aromatic white is made at a modern winery with award-winning green credentials. It perfectly captures the mountain freshness of the Lebanese vineyards.
