The Story Behind the Bottle
Founded in 1835, Gonzalez Byass is one of the top names in Jerez. The family produce an amazing array of fine sherry – from bone-dry Tio Pepe to the richest and sweetest Pedro Ximénez. Less well known are the superb vermouths they now make, reviving a family tradition dating back over a 100 years. The recipe for the La Copa range is based on the original of 1896 and the bottle’s design and label from 1906. La Copa Rojo is a luscious, bitter-sweet blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez solera cuvées, at least 8 years old, steeped in a secret blend of botanicals including wormwood, savory, clove and cinnamon. Chill down and sip solo. Alternatively, enjoy it poured over ice, mixed with soda or as part of a cocktail.
