The Story Behind the Bottle
Formerly Domaine Bernard Moreau, Alex has been bottling the wines under his own name since the estate was split with his brother in 2021. His wines are absolutely top drawer and, as critic William Kelley exclaimed, genuinely rank among some of the finest whites of Burgundy. The domaine lies close to the village of Chardonnay, just like the grape, with just 5.5 hectares of vines, some of them up to 60 years old. Visiting in 2024 to taste the 2023 vintage, the Fine Wine team loved the ying and yang of richness and racy energy throughout the lineup. Enjoy layers of intense citrus, honeyed notes, peach and pear, tightly underscored by a core of minerality. This is a fine white wine to serve with your finest cuisine – open early or cellar.
