The Story Behind the Bottle
Winemaker Alan Kennett certainly knows how to impress. He's the talent behind 'Black Stump', the No.1 red in our cellars. Regular Gold medal winner, with nearly 3,000 5-star online reviews, it's a cult classic. But not one to be easily satisfied, Alan set his sights on a reserve edition to take 'Stump' to the next level. So he applied his skills to a true Aussie star: quality Shiraz. In particular, Shiraz from South Australia’s Clare Valley, a small, hilly region 40 miles north of the Barossa. And wow did he deliver! Aged in American oak, the wine’s rich blackberry fruit has seductive overtones of mocha and vanilla. Full bodied and smooth, it makes a fine and elegant fireside companion, and matches casseroles or roasted meats with finesse.
