The Story Behind the Bottle
In 1825 cobbler Pierre Faiveley started a wine merchant business in Nuits Saint Georges. So began one of the most famous houses in Burgundy. Through seven generations vineyards have been acquired throughout the region, and just in 2013 they had the rare opportunity to gain 20 more hectares in Gevrey. Erwan Faiveley took over from his father in 2005 and has been assisted by sister Eve since 2014 (she’s the first daughter for seven generations!). Erwan set about fine tuning the style, to make wines more elegant and defined, while still retaining their cellaring potential. Chardonnay all from the tiny Les Referts plot was oak fermented and aged on lees for 17 months. An elegant, crisp white with great potential.
