The Spirit
The Kyrö Distillery Company started as a dream among friends. While drinking whisky in a Finnish sauna, they found themselves wondering why nobody was making rye whisky in Finland … and so they decided to give it a go themselves. Since it all started with rye whisky, the team at Kyrö only use 100% Finnish wholegrain rye. Paying homage to its roots, Kyrö Wood Smoke honours the oldest kind of Finnish sauna, the smoke sauna. Crafted using an ancient northern tradition, the rye has been introduced to alder smoke in a 100-year-old barn. Then, it's double pot-distilled and aged in ex-bourbon, French and new American oak casks. It unfolds with an intense pepperiness, notes of vanilla and caramel. Enjoy neat, over ice or in a cocktail.
