The Spirit
This is a delicious, smooth Tequila, with intriguing flavours of caramel and vanilla, and a caressing silky texture and weight. The perfect dram over ice and equally good as a base for your cocktail. Its name means 'bolt of lightning' and in Mexican folklore, it was this lightning flash that struck blue agave on hills close to Tequila. A local camposino followed the glow and discovered its source was the 'cooked' agave. And so Tequila, the drink, was born! All the blue agave for El Rayo is hand-planted, grown for eight years, then hand harvested and crafted to ensure the purest of flavour. Herbal aromas with hints of almond, vanilla and caramel sweetness. Its taste combines this with a grassy, piney freshness, and a hint of peppery spice.
