The Story Behind the Bottle
Established in 1859, Domaine Jean Chartron owns 13 hectares of vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet and neighbouring villages, including a number of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards such as Chevalier-Montrachet. Montmorin is a 3-hectare vineyard in Rully further south. Angus McLean from our Fine Wine team recalls a few years back: “I knew we were in for a good tasting when this wine – the first we tasted and the cheapest in the line up – was showing so well. The weight and texture are impressive, as is the wine’s overall balance. It has a lot of class.” Fermented in stainless steel and aged in well-seasoned barrels, this fine Rully focuses on its pretty, ripe stone fruit and creaminess. Serve cool with roast chicken or sauced fish dishes.
