The Story Behind the Bottle
Inspired by his experiences while playing top-class cricket around the world and meeting great winemakers and estates, Stuart Broad has put his name to a small range of wines. These are aptly named ‘Beyond the Wicket’ and showcase the styles that have ignited Stuart’s passion for wine. This is a cracking red from the McPherson family winery in the Nagambie region of Victoria, headed up by award-winning winemaker Jo Nash. The wine is mostly Shiraz, for its juicy ripe blackberry, smoky liquorice and spice notes, while a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon adds blackcurrant and mint flavours. Deliciously ripe, with bold fruit flavours and a touch of smoky oak from barrel ageing, this red is a winner with roast red meats or a warming hotpot.
