Medium dry, well balanced and fruity with a very refreshing finish
The Story Behind the Bottle
Gewurztraminer has taken a shine to the climate of Marlborough and can produce some startlingly good wines. Insight is one of the best we’ve found – modelled on the world’s benchmark from France’s Alsace, but lighter and with a fresh, racy balance of acidity. The aromas are textbook Gewurz – fresh, herby notes followed by hints of lychee, rose petal and a dusting of spice. Such finesse has a lot to do with the expertise of the growers, Fleur McCree and Hemi Duns, and the winemaker, who is none other than Eveline Fraser, former head winemaker at the most famous Kiwi estate of them all, Cloudy Bay. Insight is a delicious, medium dry wine. Delightful solo, it also makes a fine partner to Thai fish cakes, a spicy stir-fry or chicken curry.
