Château de Beaucastel Coudoulet de Beaucastel Blanc 2019
Côtes du Rhône AOC

A very smart 92pt buy, this richly opulent Rhône white is full of ripe stone fruit. One of the most complex white Côtes du Rhône you could hope to find, it comes courtesy of the Perrin family – owners of Châteauneuf’s legendary Château de Beaucastel.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Château de Beaucastel’s vineyards lie at the northern limit of Châteauneuf du Pape. Some of their vines are, in fact, found just outside the designated border of the appellation, which means wines made from these grapes must bear the Côtes du Rhône label. The 30 hectares of Coudoulet are just east of Beaucastel’s vineyard, but they are blessed with very similar conditions. Like its big brother, this ‘Baby Beaucastel’ benefits from large pebbles in the vineyard, called galets roulés. These take in the heat during the day to help maximise ripeness and concentration, yet still retain a seam of steely freshness. Using classic southern Rhône varietals, this is a luxurious, opulent white with a citrus core. Savour with sauced white meats or fish.

Very exotic. Very fleshy and creamy, honey-drizzled stone-fruit core. Long and deeply flavorsome
