Flavour Profile
England's reputation for producing exceptional sparkling wine has soared in the last two decades thanks to Champagne-rivalling cuvées like Windsor Great Park.
There was, in fact, a vineyard in the Park in the 1100s, under King Henry I. Nine centuries later, in 2010, Tony Laithwaite discovered a 3-hectare, south-facing plot with all the attributes for a top-class vineyard – gentle breezes, a moderate climate, well drained soils.
With the permission of the Duke of Edinburgh, the official Ranger for the Park, we planted the classic Champagne varieties and harvested our first grapes in 2013. The wines have since received worldwide praise.
This is our 9th release, based on the ripe 2021 vintage, topped up with reserve wines to add toasty complexity to a core of citrus, peach and sweet apple fruit.
