Germany has always produced some of the world's finest Rieslings. With the help of slightly warmer temperatures, German winemakers have perfected a dry style of wine too. As this fine white proves, they can be gloriously zingy with brilliant, ripe apple, peach and lemon fruit, undercut by intense mineral poise. This classic dry Riesling from historic Rheinhessen was made by Barbara Steffes at the award-winning Niersteiner Weingenossenschaft, founded in 1930. Whether enjoyed as an aperitif or as a partner to fish, spicy Asian food or pork, it's undeniably refreshing and delicious. Chill a bottle and pour generously.
