The Story Behind the Bottle
Gran Reserva is Spain’s highest red wine classification. And this Gran Reserva comes from one of Rioja’s greatest winemaking family’s. In 1984 – a century after they were founded – Bujanda completed a state-of-the-art winery, and since then the family have earned worldwide acclaim for their wines. We were among their first customers back in 1984 and have stayed close ever since. Alongside a high-tech vinification cellar, the winery houses two barrel halls containing 11,000 casks – both temperature- and humidity-controlled to ensure the wine matures in perfect conditions. This fine red wine, made purely from estate-grown grapes (a rarity in Rioja), has aged beautifully. Perfect now – enjoy with game or roast lamb to show it off at its best.
