The Story Behind the Bottle
Italy’s scenic Abruzzo, on the eastern side, is two-thirds mountains, the rest hills and coast, dotted with medieval villages, monasteries, Roman ruins and little else. It's also home to a cellar we've worked with from their foundation in the 1990s. Since then they've been awarded Italy’s Winery of the Year three times. They've made us the Ultima Edizione red for over a decade, and since 2018 have matched it with an equally mesmerising Ultima white. It's the sort of luxury cuvée usually destined for Rome's top restaurants – a rare blend of Pecorino, Moscato and Sauvignon grapes, hand-picked from the best vineyards and crafted to make a terrific white with lots of character and refreshing elegance. Top choice with seafood or fennel risotto.
