The Story Behind the Bottle
From one of Robertson’s most highly acclaimed wineries, The Gooseberry Bush has long been one of our best-selling whites, adored for its refreshing fruit and crispness. Usually it’s made from Colombard, with just a small portion of Sauvignon. Yet somehow the clever winemakers at award-winning Bon Courage – Jacques Bruwer and Philip Viljoen – produce a white with the explosive, fruity, grassy-fresh appeal of a New Zealand Sauvignon. For our celebratory Anniversary Edition, Jacques and Philip have focused purely on Sauvignon Blanc, holding back the finest grapes of the vintage and ageing it on fine lees for a delicious rounded texture to balance the intense tropical and citrus fruit. This white is super zesty. Great solo and with seafood.
