TFS Garnacha 2023
From the rugged-red, mountainous landscape of Aragón, northeast Spain, TFS is a bold, silky, old-vine Spanish red wine named after its award-winning winemaker, Norrel Robertson – aka The Flying Scotsman.
Norrel Robertson is a winemaker with a formidable reputation. His family estate based in the high, desert-like hills of Calatayud produces stellar wines that regularly score well over 90, with his renowned Matequemada Garnacha being awarded 98 points and Best Wine of Aragón. He is one of only eight Masters of Wine in Spain, gaining his qualification in record time.
To create TFS, Norrel searched out high-altitude vineyards up to 120 years old, harvesting only when the grapes were perfectly ripe and intensely flavoured. Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, TFS is packed with blackberry and plum fruit, aromatic wild herbs, a touch of spice and impressive freshness. Bold, silky and deliciously moreish, it’s just the wine for serving with grilled meats, a sausage casserole or even meaty fish.
