The Story Behind the Bottle
After years on the sideline, the elegant white wines of Soave are finally getting the attention they deserve. It’s thanks to producers like the Pirovano family, who have been making wines in the hills of Brianza, in the heart of the Veneto region, for five generations. Winemaker Roberto Pepe uses local grape Garganega, grown on volcanic soils, to create this mouthwatering white with delicate pear and peach flavours combined with a fresh minerality. As food and wine expert Fiona Beckett writes, the beauty of Soave is that it “goes with just about everything”. Pair this with everything from appetisers to seafood or herby pasta dishes – or simply enjoy on its own.
