Flavour Profile
Bright, fruit-forward and full of charm, Soldier Farms Chardonnay is a must for lovers of easy drinking white wines.
The wine’s name is a tribute to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, redeveloped in the early 20th century to provide settlement land for soldiers returning from the World Wars. These carefully planned 20-acre farms were designed to sustain families, creating areas known for their strong sense of community.
For this wine, the finest grapes were picked at peak flavour from vineyards in South Eastern Australia and harvested in the cool of the night to lock in freshness. Back in the winery, winemaker Kia Millis used old French oak to build complexity without overpowering the fruit. The wine then spent time on yeast lees for added texture and richness. The result? A supple, fruity white with finesse.
In the glass, expect ripe peach and citrus flavours, hints of flint and nutmeg, and subtle oak notes, all wrapped in a pleasing roundness and lifted by a zip of citrus freshness.
Lovely to sip on its own, Soldier Farms Chardonnay is also a top choice with roast chicken, a creamy fish pie or spicy Asian cuisine.
