Smuggled from Cornwall Spiced Rum
Smooth, mellow rum, with tropical fruit notes blending with butterscotch, vanilla and spice. It uses a pot-distilled rum from Guyana as base, all aged 7 years in barrel in Cornwall and cut with Cornish spring water. Deliciously rich and complex.

The Spirit
As far back as the Middle Ages, Cornwall has had a reputation for smuggling – a way for the local community to avoid the high taxes of imported goods. It was particularly prevalent in the 18th and 19th centuries when Cornwall’s fishing villages were hit by declining fish stocks. The Royal Navy and local authorities tried hard to stamp it out, but with so many hidden coves in the rugged coastline, smuggled goods were easy to stash away. Those goods included teas, spices and, of course, spirits, most notably rum. To avoid detection, barrels were often dragged along the seabed and would taste of the sea. This spiced rum includes a touch of sea salt as a nod to the region’s smuggling past. Great over ice or as part of your favourite cocktail.
