The Story Behind the Bottle
Gavi is the top white of northern Italy’s prestigious Piedmont region. It’s only permitted grape is Cortese which, grown in the best vineyards, produces truly elegant whites with a core of citrus and minerality and delicate pear, blossom and white peach fruit. Ricella Alta is from the third-generation Occhetti family, who work hard and passionately to make the most of nature’s assets in the beautiful Gavi region. As the wine’s name Ricella Alta implies, the vineyards are high altitude, at 400 metres, which lends extra elegance and freshness to the wine. Chill down and enjoy this crisp white on its own or with panfried fish, other seafood, or with salads.
