The Wine
In the last three years, Beaujolais has made an impressive comeback and its wines are now better than ever and some of the hottest off the shelves! This is a gloriously fruity and charming red, not just Beaujolais, but Villages too, which means even more flavour. It's from the winemaker Jean Casadella. Since 1992 he's been in charge at the 19th century Château des Loges cellar. It was originally founded by the noble Barons of Vauxonne, then purchased in 1958 by local growers. He takes the very first run of juice from the grapes to ensure the purest and juiciest of flavours. It's silky too with lots of gulpable freshness. Serve cool or lightly chilled. A delight on its own and a winner with chicken, wraps, veggie kebabs or charcuterie.
