The Story Behind the Bottle
The 2018 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon offers a taste of top-pedigree Pauillac at a surprisingly modest price. It’s the second label of esteemed Grand Cru Classé Château Clerc Milon. Part of the Baronne Philippine de Rothschild stable, owners of the hallowed First Growth Mouton Rothschild, winemaking simply doesn’t come any grander. You’d be paying well over £500 a bottle for the 2019 Mouton Rothschild! James Suckling described the 2019 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon as “berry, currant and hazelnut aromas follow through to a medium body … juicy and yummy”, while Wine Advocate wrote: “Supple and perfumed, the 2019 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon bursts with aromas of violets, rose petals and sweet berry fruit."
