Flavour Profile
Winemaker Domenico De Gregorio (known as Mimmo to his friends) calls Mimmo Rosso his ‘Super Sicilian red’ and in 2023, he’s changed up the blend to make it even more deliciously silky and moreish.
For this vintage, he blended the bright cherry fruit of Merlot with the warm fruit and savoury herbs of Cabernet Franc, adding a slug Syrah for its rich blackberry and spice notes. The result? A juicy, berry-intense red with a soft, mouth-coating texture. Capturing the warm heart of Sicily, it’s so good, Mimmo put his name on it!
Silky-smooth, it’s great to savour slowly on its own. Or why not pair with some delicious Sicilian classics, such as arancini or pasta alla norma (with aubergine and plenty of basil), for the best experience?
