The Story Behind the Bottle
Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet in the northern Rhône valley, the Jaboulet estate produces wines that regularly rival Bordeaux First Growths for their incredible layers of richness and finesse. Fruity and enticing when young, they can age for decades, acquiring complex leathery and gamey overtones once the structural tannins have softened. Critic James Suckling described this red as having “huge power and structure without that much weight, thanks to the wonderful freshness that’s intertwined with the tarry depths of this Hermitage masterpiece”. Dried fruits, violets and smoke with a creamy texture making it an opulent glass, with time. Ideally cellar - it will continue to develop for decades. Delicious with meat or aubergine dishes.
