The Story Behind the Bottle
Along with Barolo, Barbaresco is a very fine expression of the Nebbiolo grape, crafted here at the 150-year-old Sartirano cellar. Today this winery is run by the fourth generation, Paolo, who works closely with all his growers to gain the highest-quality grapes. One of those growers is Señor Natale Seghesia, who loves to describe Tuscan life and experience in poetry. (And whose passion inspired the name of this wine.) His Il Poeta Barbaresco, particularly the supple-fruit 2020 vintage, is a poetical expression of the finest Nebbiolo. It's an intense and poised Barbaresco, full of dark cherry and mocha flavours, with balsamic notes and freshness. Complex and unmistakably elegant.
