The success story of this remote wine region is one of the most remarkable in modern times, and one in which Hunter’s can justly claim to have played a major part. Raise a glass then to Jane Hunter, not only a trained viticulturist with a string of accolades for her work (including a ‘UK Women in Wine Award’) but an OBE and, most recently, Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. From a vineyard planted in 1995, this white balances spicy fruit and freshness.
