The Wine
English growers in 2022 couldn’t believe their luck – unparalleled warmth and clear sunlight, with near-perfect spring weather and just enough rain. The outcome was an exceptional vintage that was both plentiful and very high in quality, characteristics not enjoyed so bountifully since 2018. As a result, our Buyer, Becca, was able to reserve a delicious parcel of premium white wine from the award-winning Balfour winery on the Hush Heath estate. The winery was founded in 2002 by Richard and Leslie Balfour-Lynn, winning their first Trophy in 2007 for their launch vintage. The Growers Selection is a fresh, rounded white blended from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grown on the estate, lees aged and stirred to lend a pleasing creaminess and weight.
