The Story Behind the Bottle
Giorgio Flessati is a top Italian winemaker we've known for many years. In 1995, he moved to Chile's inhospitable Elqui Valley to join his cousin Aldo and explore this almost desert-like landscape for its potential with fine wine. With their first release, the Viña Falernia Syrah Reserva 2002, they won a trophy and so put Elqui on the world map. Titón Reserva is a new wine for Giorgio, using the very best grapes from that original vineyard. It has a cooler climate, regularly covered in mist, so the berries ripen slowly, gaining depth and retaining freshness and aroma. Giorgio handpicks the grapes, fermenting them slowly and ageing the wine a year in part-new barrels. A beautifully balanced red to enjoy with steak, baked aubergine or cheese.
