Flavour Profile
Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard Savingy-Lès-Beaune is a bright, aromatic Burgundy from a 7th-generation family estate which has been producing wine since 1529.
Defying the pressures of the modern age, Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard still remains within the hands of the Girard family. Jean-Jacques and Agnes’s son, Vincent, has been making the wine for several years and is now joined by Vincent’s younger brother, François.
The domaine extends over 20 hectares covering top sites from Corton in the north, to Volnay in the south. Under the current stewardship of Vincent, the estate is enjoying new levels of excellence and has produced a string of brilliant vintages.
Aged in French oak barrels for 15 months, this fine red is silky and poised. The flavours are ripe, bright and intense, with cherry and raspberry fruit and leafy peppery notes. Cellar or drink now and decant in advance.
