Flavour Profile
A very fine, racy Burgundy, Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc comes from a family estate in a village that is not only one of the most beautiful in the Côte de Beaune, but also one of the oldest – Pernand-Vergelesses.
After more than 30 vintages at the family estate, current owner Christine Dubreuil is an expert winemaker and extremely proud of the range of wines Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine produces – from village Burgundy to the top Grand Crus. With 20 hectares of vines in total, she goes to enormous lengths to produce the very highest quality, always respecting the environment and what nature offers her. As Wine Advocate wrote, "Christine is a dab hand at winemaking [...]an address that I think is producing underrated wines that deserve a wider audience."
This great Pernand-Vergelesses takes grapes from four plots, half the grapes fermented and aged in oak, a portion of it new, and the other half in stainless steel vat for purity of fruit. There's great energy to this fine white wine, offering aromas of lemon, lime and orange blossom, followed by notes of juicy peach and pear on the palate, with subtle hints of lemongrass. Enjoy this wine chilled, alongside white fish or sharp cheeses.
