Wine Advocate wrote, "readers who don't know this estate should give it serious consideration". This top-vintage Savigny, named in honour of Guillaume Camus's great-great-grandmother, is a sappy, crushed strawberry and sophisticated red Burgundy.

The Wine
Savigny “can be a marvel of finesse” and “up to the highest Beaune standard” wrote Hugh Johnson and this delicious red from Guillaume Camus Bruchon is on top form. The family estate lies on the edge of Savigny, overlooking the village's finest plots, with 9.5 hectares across Savigny, Beaune and Pommard. Camus lends precision and care to the crafting of his wines, using grapes from vines up to a century old, from many different parcels. This gives the wine real depth, while ageing in 20% new 500-litre oak barrels lends just enough spice, whilst still allowing the fruit to do the 'talking'. Pure crushed strawberry and orange zest aromas, it is a sappy red fruit Burgundy, rounded, balanced and long with a fresh finish. Decant early or cellar.
