When our buyer Sarah took a trip to Corsica she paid a visit to the beautiful, out of the way Domaine Campo Longo, run by Jean-Andre Guidici. After a walk around the vineyards in the blazing summer sun, they went back to the cellar for a refreshing glass. It wasn’t a rosé or a white that Jean-Andre pulled from the fridge, but this juicy, vibrant red. It was love at first sip.
Made using Corsica’s native Nielluccio grape and overflowing with bright cherry and redcurrant fruit, it’s easy to see why the locals love it so much. In fact, it never usually leaves Corsica because the locals enjoy so much of it, making this a rare treat. Enjoy it lightly chilled, paired with light pasta dishes or seafood risotto.
