The Story Behind the Bottle
In 2014 we unveiled Dark Corner, a secretive Durif Shiraz blend made in a dark corner of the cellar away from the gaze of David Joeky’s fellow winemakers. It soon took its place in our legendary Shiraz Durif range. Since then that same corner has been harbouring an even darker secret in the form of this pitch black, premium Barossa Valley Shiraz which David aged for 12 months in the finest American and French oak barrels. Dark Corner Reserve will lure you in with rich blackberry and spicy blackcurrant fruit, melting into smoky cocoa and dark coffee bean flavours. We recommend you decant this wine an hour beforehand to fully release its aromas. Serve with grilled red meats, especially ‘black and blue’ steaks or rich winter casseroles.
