The Wine
Not only are the tantalising berry and citrus flavours of this pink just perfect, but it’s also a wine of serious pedigree. It’s made by the same team behind the legendary first growth, Château Haut-Brion, which was first bought by American financier Clarence Dillon. He visited Bordeaux in 1934 and fell in love with the property. The estate wasn’t then in peak form, but that didn’t put him off. Certain it was the jewel of Bordeaux, he bought it and so started his family’s long commitment to the region. In 1983 they purchased La Mission Haut-Brion, next door, too. Clarendelle is the initiative of Clarence Dillon’s great grandson, Prince Robert of Luxembourg, and this is their fine pink. Deliciously crisp, with elegant, bright berry fruit.
