The Story Behind the Bottle
Château Siran is one of the Médoc’s great historic estates, dating back to 1428. Owned for a while by the Toulouse Lautrec family, it was purchased by the Miaihle family in 1858 and is now run by Edouard Miailhe. This fifth generation winemaker brings with him a determination to take quality up to Grand Cru level. Judging by taste and critics' comments, he is having success. Decanter Magazine considers Siran to be "a name to follow", and this 2017 release has attracted a raft of 90+ point scores. It's opening up already and is full of charming, elegant red fruit, with the true class of Left Bank Cabernet. A claret that will reward patience. Or if you can't wait to try, decant for an hour to allow all those flavours to unfurl.
