The Story Behind the Bottle
Leoville-Las-Cases has a stellar reputation in Saint-Julien. The estate is the largest of the three Léoville properties – the others being Léoville-Poyferre and Léoville-Barton - created when there was a family split in the 1800s. It is situated on exceptional terroir under the cooling influence of the Gironde estuary which produces grapes with great concentration and structure. The 2022 has received glowing praise from the critics. “One of the wines of the vintage with striking power but delivered so perfectly with everything in balance” says Decanter, while Vinous writes: “there is something lavish and audacious about this Saint-Julien”. Decadent fruits, exotic spice, immense depth and great structure, this is certainly one to cellar.
