The Story Behind the Bottle
Bertrand is one of the great family names of the Languedoc. We first met Georges Bertrand in 1972 and he agreed to make a rich, warm Corbières red, using grapes from his estate, Domaine de Villemajou. 50 years on, his son, Gérard, has elevated the estate to great heights. A hugely successful rugby player, Gérard gave up the sport for wine. He's won a huge number of awards, including most recently 'Master Winemaker of the World 2023' (Drinks Business). This is a deep, plush and rich red blended from Caberbet Franc, Merlot & Malbec. Like a ripe, aged Bordeaux with extra spice.
