The Story Behind the Bottle
Our Bordeaux buyer Jean-Marc has never seen a Montagne-Saint-Émilion this good at such a great price before. You see, due to recent diminishing demand for Bordeaux, top estates are offering bargains galore. That means high-quality reds like this are going for a song. It comes from an estate in Montagne, the most revered of the Saint-Émilion satellite regions. Just east of Pomerol and separated from Saint-Émilion by a small river, Château La Croix Saint-Michel enjoys a privileged location within one of Bordeaux’s most revered terroirs. The estate is managed by Daniel Larnaudie and his daughter Pauline, who together tend to their 10-hectare plot of prized family vines and make this soft, complex, delicious claret. Will age for years to come.
