The region boasts ample sunshine – twice as many hours as London – yet relatively moderate temperatures, even in the height of summer, thanks to cooling sea breezes. Candeline comes from Les Alpes de Haute Provence – an appellation that says it all in its name. From sustainably managed, lavender and wild herb-strewn hillside vineyards, the Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes produce a fine, crisp rosé with delicate berry fruit and a subtle savoury edge. A great choice with poached salmon, salt and pepper squid or on its own.
