The Story Behind the Bottle

The original Cabalié is red, inspired by the idea that Roman soldiers would have once drunk wines from vines planted in the very same southern French soils that growers harvest from today. They may not have had the wherewithal to make rosés back then, but nowadays, Parker-praised winemaker Hervé Sabardeil certainly does.

This is the latest release of his Cabalié Rosé and it’s likely to be as enthusiastically received as its sibling red. Hervé selected old-vine Grenache and Syrah to ensure lovely depth of spicy berry fruit, then harvested early to gain zippy freshness.

It’s an aromatic pink with vibrant strawberry and grenadine flavours and a hint of pepper. Serve chilled on its own, with prawns, pan-seared salmon or a chicken and seafood paella.
