The Story Behind the Bottle
Hervé Sabardeil is the talented winemaker behind many of our bestselling wines. He’s been crafting Cabalié for over 15 years – and Cabalié Cuvée Vielles Vignes is its luxurious reserve edition. Hervé uses hand-harvested parcels of Grenache and Carignan from extremely old vines (the ‘vieilles vignes’ are between 60 and 100 years old). These ancient, low-yielding vines produce fewer grapes, but with incredible concentration of flavour. The resulting wine is intensely rich, with cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant aromas, silky red and black fruit flavours and spice. Bold, smooth and oh-so satisfying, it’s Cabalié turned up a notch. A superb match for hearty stews, roasted meats or cheeses. Our No.1 top-selling luxury red wine for a reason.
