The Spirit

One of the most recognisable names in American whiskey, Buffalo Trace is known for its mellow, approachable style and classic vanilla and caramel flavours. Its flagship bourbon makes it easy to see why Buffalo Trace has won hundreds of awards.

The story of Buffalo Trace began in 1775 with the founding of Leestown distillery near the Frankfort settlement, on the banks of the Kentucky River. The distillery grew and evolved through the years, surviving wars, floods, fires and even Prohibition. It operated under several names that marked important chapters in its history – O.F.C. Distillery, founded in 1870 by Colonel E.H. Taylor, George T. Stagg Distillery in 1904 and eventually becoming Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1999.

With over 200 years of history in every bottle, Buffalo Trace Bourbon has earned over 100 awards in the last two decades alone. Crafted using a tradition low-rye mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged in new, charred oak barrels in the distillery’s century-old warehouse. Here it develops layered flavours of brown sugar, vanilla and dried fruit, with hints of toffee, warm spices and delicate oak lingering in the finish.

This whiskey is delicious on its own, over ice or enjoyed in classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned.
