Flavour Profile
Named after the founding Antonio Fattori, this distinguished estate was established early in the 20th century. Antonio had returned from World War I to discover his vines ravished by phylloxera. Undeterred, he set about sorting the problem.
His son followed the vinous path and in turn the third generation, also an Antonio, became custodian of the small property. He was determined to learn all he could about winemaking and viticulture, studying first, then travelling the world and learning firsthand. He’s now bought vineyards all across northern Italy, but has never forgotten the Soave of his origins. Indeed, Wine Advocate declared, “his white Soave expressions are true standouts”.
Monte Lessini is a Metodo Classico, made using Italy's traditional method, just like Champagne. It's a delicious blend of Durella and Chardonnay, the former for its bright citrusy acidity, the latter for its creamy roundness. Thirty six months ageing on lees has added toasty complexity to its flavours.
