Flavour Profile
For a quarter of a century, Hendrick’s Gin has been a firm favourite around the world for its delightfully peculiar cucumber and rose character. And now, the masterminds of Hendrick’s Gin Palace have created the first permanent addition to the Hendrick’s family in almost a decade – Another Hendrick’s Gin.
In 2003, the Wall Street Journal declared Hendrick’s “the best gin in the world”. Nothing much has changed because Hendrick’s continues to distil in minuscule batches of 450 litres, giving master distiller Lesley Gracie greater control over quality. Hendrick’s use a blend of spirits from a rare Carter-Head still and a small pot still, which give different styles arising from differing construction and distillation methods. The pot still spirit has an oily character with a strong juniper flavour. The spirit from the Carter-Head still is more subtle with light floral and sweet fragrances derived from cucumber and rose petals essences, which give Hendrick’s Original gin its distinctive character.
Another Hendrick’s is a new side to the iconic Scottish gin that was created thanks to Lesley’s unending curiosity. When pondering how to craft a gin that embraced the velvety richness of cacao, without losing Hendrick’s famous crisp character, she was drawn to the hothouses of the Gin Palace. Inspired by fragrant flowers and exotic plants, Lesley began to experiment and discovered a combination that was both deliciously indulgent and delightfully bright. Citrusy orange blossom and rich cacao bring a new dimension to the signature cucumber and rose petal core.
Presented in a striking white bottle, this gin has a balance depth, softness and brightness that is unmistakably Hendrick’s … yet deliciously different.
