For a top Aussie white, try one from Yering Station. It was founded by Scottish brothers in 1838, who used most of the farm for cattle, but also planted a few vines. It's been winning Golds since 1861. The Rathbone family bought it in 1996, since when they have made even greater strides in producing some of the finest wines of Australia. In 2004 they were awarded 'International Winemaker of the Year' by IWSC. Willy Lunn is their talented winemaker, learning with the legendary Brian Croser at Petaluma. He is a specialist in cool climate winemaking. Enjoy the superb complexity of this Burgundian style white, with its firm Aussie twist. Half fermented in French oak and half in vat, then aged for 9 months in barrel, this is a fine white.
