A rare, 6-year-old Crianza from Rioja's neighbour, Navarra. It's pure, old vine Garnacha, harvested from the Pyrenean foothills. In view of the snow clad tops, it's cool up there, lending elegance to the dark, ripe raspberry fruit and toasty spice.

This is a mature, complex Crianza from Bodega Sada. The cellar was founded 80 years ago in a tiny village of the same name, Sada, in the Pyrenean foothills, very close to the French border. It's near to gourmet favourites San Sebastian and Bilbao, and served at many restaurants there. Exports abroad is a new thing, though the 2011 Crianza was awarded 95 Points by Decanter and named Best Spanish Grenache! Maria Eransus is the talented winemaker, trained at great wineries like Remelluri in Rioja, as well as in Chile and Priorat. The wine is pure Garnacha, aged in barrel for a year, much longer than DO rules dictate. With toasty berry and vanilla spice notes, this is a mellow red to sip on its own or serve with pulled pork or veggie wraps.
