Moonlake Clare Valley Riesling 2018

Clare Valley

Australia's Clare Valley is a haven for world class Riesling. Higher altitude and cooler temperatures result in slow ripening and great classics like Moonlake. Very crisp, dry, yet with lovely ripe lime and apricot fruit and a stony floral hint.

Situated in the northern Mount Lofty Ranges, the Clare Valley is home to some of Australia's finest wine names. Here you'll find Jim Barry, Grosset, Tim Adams and Mount Horrocks, to name just a few. It has vineyards up to 609 metres altitude and in summer, temperatures can drop from 40° during the day to 1° at night. That certainly puts the brakes on ripening. The long, drawn out ripening period ensures maximum aromas, depth and freshness. Ideal for top class Rieslings and its equally remarkable reds, both of which it's renowned for. This is a special parcel of Riesling discovered by our Buyer, Dan. A top name we can't disclose, but you'll recognise the quality when you pour yourself a glass. Rivetingly fresh and limey, great with seafood.
