Long Terrace Chardonnay 2017

Limestone Coast

If anyone could lure lapsed Chardonnay drinkers back it’s this ‘new wave’ Chardonnay. It retains classic Aussie ripe fruit exuberance, backed by crisp acidity thanks to Australia’s ocean cooled Limestone Coast, and understated oak. An absolute joy.

Wine Spectator wrote: “The best Chardonnays are homing in on a less oak-driven, more minerally style.” It’s what modern wine drinkers demand and exactly why our Aussie Buyer scooped up this tasty white. He had to move fast – China has become a huge export market for Australia and they love Chardonnay! The wine is from South Australia’s premium Limestone Coast. Made up of six subregions, they all share a prized deep red soil and a superb ocean cooled climate. Grapes ripen slowly, which is particularly good for producing crisp, aromatic whites. So enjoy Australia’s characteristic, sunshine ripe fruit with a gentle hint of toasty spice, all underscored by a lovely citrus minerality. An elegant glass solo and tasty with creamy chicken or fish.
